First short movie on DV. What now?

We finished working on our first short movie (26 minutes) and produced 50 CD-ROMs as well as 50 VHS PAL tapes. Now we sold a big part to our friends and coplete strangers who visited the premiere.

Now most of our friends tend to say 'this movie rocks! great work!' but I'd rather get some serious feedback in order to make it better the next time.
- Is there any possibility to show the movie at festivals? If yes, what would I need to do next? What kind of format would I have to send in?
- Is there anybody amongst the forum visitors who could give us 'professional' feedback?

depends what you consider 'professional'. Apparently we're all just amateur hobbyists.

fest-wise there's quite a few options, I think dale keeps a list somewhere

First of all I'd like to say congratulations on your first short completed. It is an accomplishment that some on this board over look.

Screw critical feedback. Get it into some festivels and get some audience feedback. There's a list on this site somewhere I'm sure, plus there's plenty specifically designed for DV films. You might want to try submitting to a few competitions, you may not win but they sometimes have great panels.

Basically ride it for all it's worth, get it out there as much as you can.
